Barrow Stables is a small, friendly yard offering a wide range of livery and qualified tuition, all in a secure horse friendly enviroment.

Ruth Matthews has owned and operated Barrow Stables for  over 30 years and has bred, trained and competed horses at different levels and disciplines.

We offer Grass, DIY, Part, Full and Holiday Livery, long or short term, tailored to your individual needs.

This is a safe and secure site with an automated gate on entry to the property, and the owners are on-site 24/7.

The yard is situated in the heart of Rutland, plenty of off/on road hacking. 5 miles from the A1 and close to Oakham, Grantham, Melton Mowbray and Stamford, making access to nearby competition/training venues within easy reach. We are also on the doorstep of the Cottesmore Hunt.

We have a wide selection of stables, mainly solid-stone around an attractive courtyard and a fabulous `Scotts` stable block. These includes:

• Covered wash boxes, tackrooms and feed-rooms.
• All weather floodlit 30 x 50 FlexiRide menage.
• All weather purpose built lunge ring.
• Solarium
• lorry and trailer park
• Approx 40 acres of well fenced grazing.
• Coffee room with hot and cold water, fridge kettle etc.
